Carpet cleaning maintenance.

Dry compound carpet cleaning has been around for years and is infrequently used by many professional carpet cleaning companies.

Many commercial customers will have carpet cleaned ‘when it looks dirty’, but more companies are realizing the importance of maintaining carpet and the financial benefits associated. Dry cleaning is an effective way of cleaning whether in your home or at work but it really excels when part of a planned maintenance system.

We like this system because the compound we use is organic, this sometimes consists of ground maize although sawdust is also very popular. The label attached to these products is ‘micro sponges’, the reason for this is when viewed under a microscope the little piece of dust actually resembles a natural sponge, which is impregnated with water, cleaning agent or alcohol. When a contra rotating brush machine is used, these sponges are massaged deep into the carpet fibres, whipping soil from the yarn as they go, they will also absorb soil too.

Allowing the sponges to dry is an important part of the cleaning process as they are far easier to vacuum away than when they are damp, when the process is completed the carpets are back in use, immediately.

This system offers minimal risk to the carpet as long as the correct brushes are used in the brush machine, shrinkage and colour bleed should not be an issue.

This system of carpet cleaning is probably the most eco friendly way of cleaning carpets, with compounds made from renewable resources.
